Frequently Asked Questions – Renting a Vacation Home in San Diego

How do I find out what properties are available and what the rates are?

You may call into our office to speak with a reservationist, or on our website, you can click on the “Vacation Rentals” tab, select the property you wish to explore. Select an available check in and out date and the rates will be provided on the right-hand side. Feel free to click “Book Now” to proceed with the booking process.

What happens when I book online?

A reservationist will contact you by phone or e-mail within 24 hours to discuss your reservation. We require a registration form to be filled out with the names and ages of all people within your group.  Absolutely no reservation is confirmed until approved and full payment has been obtained, within 60 days of arrival.

If the reservation is approved, when is payment due and how do you take payment?

If the reservation is approved, 30% of the total and, if applicable, the security deposit, are due immediately. Full payment is due 60 days prior to check in.  We accept credit card payments, as well as checks, in some cases.  We accept Visa and MasterCard; however we do not accept American Express or Discover. Please call into our office to discuss payment with our reservationists.

What is the cancellation policy & COVID-19 Cancellation Policy?

If you wish to cancel your reservation after the initial fees and security deposit, if applicable, has been received, we will withhold $300.00 of that amount for the cancellation fee. If canceling within 60 days of arrival, and payment has been received, we will withhold the total amount unless we can find a substitute occupant for the property during the dates requested. If the dates are rebooked, you will be refunded the rebooked rates.  As for COVID-19 cancellations, we will honor the cancellation, if travel insurance is purchased and a doctor's note is provided showing a positive test by the Agreement executor, or an already established travel companion (guest name must be on the Guest Questionnaire at signing).  This refund will go through the Travel Insurance you selected at booking, so we strongly urge you to consider the Cancel for Any Reason insurance policy at check out.  We do understand that every situation is unique; please give us a call to discuss.

Early Check-In Requests?

Early check-ins are not permitted from June through August. Luggage may be stored in our office during business hours and must be retrieved before 3pm. For the remaining months of the year, early arrival requests will be considered within two days of arrival.


How do I check into the property?

After full payment and all documentation is received, we will send you all the property specific information.  Most properties are secured using electronic codes so you will not need to stop into the office to obtain a key.  If the property is accessed with a key, we will provide you instructions on obtaining that key.

What Supplies are Provided?

Our properties are fully furnished. Linens, bath towels, and beach towels are provided. We also provide a starting supply of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap, laundry and dishwashing detergents, toilet paper (3 per bathroom), paper towels (1 roll), a dish sponge, and trash bags. The supplies provided are complimentary and are meant to cover your needs before heading to the store. Beach supplies including chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. are not guaranteed. Basic food supplies including salt, spices, cooking oil, coffee filters etc. also are not guaranteed. Please notify us of any damaged cookware and appliances upon your arrival.  The majority of our properties have a gas grill stocked with propane for your enjoyment.

What is the Parking Situation at My Rental?

Most of our properties provide at least one off-street parking space, but not all. Measurements are provided for you to determine if the size will be sufficient for your vehicle. Large vehicles are not recommended. Should your car not fit in the designated space, it will be your responsibility to find a suitable alternative. If renting in the Mission Beach area, street parking around and on Mission Boulevard is very limited, especially during summer months. Please follow all posted signage to avoid receiving a ticket or being towed, if parking on the street.

When is check in and check out?

Check in is 3pm and check out is 10am sharp. 

Can I smoke at the property?

No smoking of any kind, including vaping and marijuana, is permitted in the properties or on the premises, including balconies and patios. If you must smoke, please exit the property entirely.  Smoking is not permitted on the beaches or boardwalk areas, per City laws.

How and when do I get my security deposit back, if applicable?

When you check out, please remove all trash from the home and place in the designated bins. Please make sure all dishes/cookware are washed and stowed away in their appropriate place.  Please remove all personal items. You do not need to wash any bed linens or towels. The property and its contents will be inspected after your departure, as long as it is accounted for and undamaged, your security deposit will be refunded approximately two weeks after your check out date.
