My wife and I had a short stay here and we fell in love! The sound of the ocean was mesmerizing. The condo is everything the photos and descriptions show. Clean, updated, comfortable, amazing views, amazing location. So impressed with SDVR! The staff was so great, communicated quick, and accommodated our requests. All around experience from booking to check-out was outstanding. Thank you!

The property was fantastic and exactly as described. The ocean view was absolutely stunning—we actually hurried back just to make sure we didn’t miss the sunset. Waking up to the full moon was a special bonus and made the whole stay feel like a true, peaceful escape.The location was perfect, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, and having a garage was a great perk. The place was spotless and very comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel even more open and spacious than the photos suggested.

Incredible place! Perhaps the best VRBO I've ever stayed in. The bottom layer of windows open, so we sat mesmerized by the views of the ocean and listening to the lapping of the waves. Can't recommend this place enough! We loved our escape to La Jolla and this place was the key reason.

Wow! You cannot find better views than this. Absolute perfection. Some of the best sunsets we’ve ever seen. We saw so many cool things just outside the windows from the comfort of the couch: full double rainbows, water spouts, lots of surfing and incredible sunsets. The place itself is well located in La Jolla and is very well taken care of. This is a host that cares about your stay and it shows. Simple and minimal check out requirements. We cant wait to return.

This place is absolute perfection!!! The view is incredible, the location is excellent-steps from the beach and walkable to both Bird Rock and La Jolla Point areas (surrounded by great shops and restaurants). The penthouse itself is clean and comfortable. I will literally book my next trip around the availability of this place!!!

Just delightful in every way. We will be back. Exactly as advertised, we didn’t want to leave our perch on top of the Pacific Ocean unobstructed views for miles. Last day we watched a pod of dolphins make their way along the shore. Just magical. And the sunsets….

This is a lovely, spacious, well equipped condo right off Windandsea beach. We are a family of 5, and stayed comfortably. There are beach chairs and toys for use. Indoor parking. Good sized washer and dryer. And the kitchen has all the appliances and tools we needed. You can walk easily to the tide pools, and seal beach, and lots of restaurants. But it's also easy to drive and find parking. We really had a wonderful time. I highly recommend!

The condo was amazing. The views were stunning. We had an awesome time. Only thing negative is that no full size SUV will fit in the garage. The driveway is too steep. You just have to park in front of the garage. And you have to understand the location. You are off the beaten path a ways and it’s a hump to get to anything. Just wanted to leave an honest review. I’m just picking at perfect. I’m sure we will be back.

This was one of my very favorite VRBO stays. A unit that offers the ultimate in relaxation. You had the option of sitting with the crowds on the beach or staying in your unit and both were equally beautiful. Meals, if eaten out, were a block away and morning walks were bliss. We will be back!

We just completed a four night stay as a family for 4 (14 and 11) and couldn’t have been more pleased. The view of windansea and the location can’t be beat. It’s incredible. The hosts were tremendously thoughtful and the condo is extremely organized and super clean. The parking spot in the garage is super convenient and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful. We enjoyed Cafe Vahlik up the street for great coffee and a quick great breakfast a few days. Hope to be back soon!

This beach house is perfect for a family of four or two couples. It is located in the penthouse of a residential building with amazing views of the ocean, sunset and people watching. The front oceanside and north side of the home is a wall of floor to ceiling windows. The check in process was easy and the property manager was prompt to answer any questions. We could walk to local places to eat and pick up groceries. You really do not need a rental car, if you don't mind walking a little bit. The home is fully stocked with high quality linens and beach towels. The owner has left air conditioning units that really are not required but good to have as an option. The Internet was great for working from "home". Check out was easy too. We will definitely make this our go to La Jolla rental.

Sad to leave. Our vacation was perfect! The location was perfect, beyond comfortable, love the layout of the condo. The views from the huge windows are incredible. Coffee in the mornings was my favorite part. Beach was great, the neighborhood was beautiful. Love the Cafes, Valley Farm, and restaurants within walking distance. The Art and Wine fest was a nice surprise. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back.

Relaxing family getaway, even with teenagers! Breathtaking views from this unit may be the best in southern CA! I loved that our teenagers could watch TV with the owner-provided wireless headphones so we could enjoy watching the surfers in peace! One of our teens slept in the second bedroom, and the other opted for the sleeper sofa in the main room (very comfortable). Floor-to-ceiling windows can warm the living room in the afternoon, but we lowered the sunshades, cracked open the lower sliding windows and stayed comfortable. Both bedrooms had AC to keep cool. This unit is beautifully furnished and so inviting! Kitchen had everything we needed. I would move in if I could...

Great family vacation. Ideal location. Beautifully furnished and well stocked for parents and young kids: beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, laundry, and stuffed animals to adopt. How nice. We were worried about the lower windows, but they have metal screens to keep young ones safe. Beautiful beach for walks and never got too crowded. Enjoyed walking to Cafe Vahik, Verdes el Ranchero, and Valley Farm Market. We will be back.

Wow! If available, stay here! Incredible - clean, easy check in/out, great beds, great showers, great neighborhood. The view is incredible! Watched surfers and pelicans all day. Magical spot for sunsets! Highly recommend.

The property is located on the top floor of a three-story building. There are floor-to-ceiling arched windows on two sides with nothing to obstruct your view of the crashing waves. Sunsets are magnificent. Surfers are constantly carving the perfect center break at WindanSea Beach. Gulls wheel and Pelicans skim the waves in formation. Further out there are boats: fishing, cargo, military and sail. There`s a spotting scope for getting a closer look. Enjoy a parade of photo shoots on the rocks and around the surfers palm palapa. The setting is so great that the newly engaged come here to have their pictures taken as do actresses, sports teams and Quinceaneras. At low tide WindanSea, immortalized in Tom Wolfe`s short story, The Pump House Gang, is a perfect swimming beach with dozens of semi private nooks formed by the jumble of rocks. You can easily walk to a handful of good restaurants and cafes. Our favorite is the Promiscuous Fork. The La Jolla Cove is 2 miles away. A few minutes by Uber, bike or electric scooter. Parking could be a challenge in the summer, but the condo comes with two spaces (one inside the garage). The building is midcentury modern designed by Henry Hester in 1968. The original architectural drawings are on the walls of the condo. There are beach toys in an owner`s locker in the garage and a sauna for warming up after a dip in the chilly Pacific. The Condo itself is open plan and looks to have been recently renovated with new paint, en suite washer/dryer, silent dishwasher and restored and replicated mid century modern furniture. The beds are very comfortable. There are two new Samsung TV`s but really we never turned them on. We spent our time while in the condo enjoying the view. The reservation and check in process were very easy. The directions say come down Bonair from La Jolla Village Drive but you would actually do better to come down Playa del Norte. Since that is where the garage entrance is. You`ll have to park and walk around the building to enter and open the garage door but that is easier than driving your car four blocks to make a legal entrance to the garage. Your bay is the second one, under the light. But it comes back to the views... from every room!

The condo is very comfortable in a prime, ideal location. Host/owner provided all the amenities to make guests feel like they are home away from home. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

With all of the COVID restrictions and overwhelming bad news on TV and social media lately, we just wanted to get away and try to forget about all that. We live in San Diego, just a bit more inland. Although we were less than 30 minutes from home, it felt like we were a world away. The expansive 180-degree view of the ocean, the sound of the waves crashing, and the salty ocean air was just what we needed. Every morning when we woke up, we just marveled at the view and kind of had to pinch ourselves to realize we weren’t dreaming. We were a party of four: adult couple + 1 & 3 year old. The stuffed animals and sand toys were a super sweet added detail. The kitchen was well stocked. The dedicated parking was clutch. The entryway was a bit gritty/sandy, but there was a really nice cordless Dyson vacuum in the closet, so I was able to clean that up fairly easily. Anyhow, certainly nothing that would keep me from coming back. If you have young kids who are messy eaters, I recommend a Splat Mat to put under their chairs, as the dining table sits on carpet. We noticed this in the listing photos, so we planned ahead and brought one. Noteworthy features: AC units in every room. Automatic/electric light filtering shades as well as blackout shades. Dishwasher. WiFi. Garage parking spot as well as one driveway spot behind it. Window screens are metal and screwed in/secure (not your typical pop-our wire screen), which is a great safety feature I had been apprehensive about prior to arrival since I have tiny munchkins. White noise machines provided in both bedrooms (rental unit is on kind of a busy corner, so this definitely helped with keeping the littles sleeping soundly). Telescope. Sony headphones to use with TV in living room. Smart TV with access to several apps (Prime Video, Netflix, etc.). I’m sure I’m forgetting some stuff, but overall a great experience. Definitely recommend and plan to return!

This is the perfect beachfront property! Big glass windows made our stay so magical. It was fun watching all the surfers catch waves and seeing all the birds fly by. Being able to walk across the street to the beach was awesome and we probably spent more time there than in the property! Parking was also very convenient as the owners provide a space for you. If you have more than one vehicle, parking on the street is also a nonissue. The location is very close to downtown La Jolla, so you can do some shopping while you are in town. As for the property, it is super clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We`re already missing it and can't wait to go back!

This place has the best view from La Jolla where you can see the surf shack from the living room. It was great to just walk across the street and be able to sit under the surf shack - was great. You can also see all the surfers catching the waves. The location was really close to downtown where I was able to visit a store. Our host also prepared few stuffed animals for little kiddos to play with and to take home, if the guests want to. Very cute details throughout!

Our family had such a wonderful stay at this property. The condo is well worth the money spent because of the amazing views and great customer service. Did not. They communicated with us from reservation to check in and check out and equally important, the condo was spic and span and well equipped with all the basic things we need making our stay stress free and relaxing! We loved staying at the house. The sunset views are unparalleled and watching surfers all day from the house is an added bonus. The house is clean and all kitchen appliances/cutlery look fairly new.
