Perfect location! Loved the easy access both to nearby beach as well as the short drive to La Jolla Shores. Tons of shopping, restaurant options, cafes. Great neighborhood to get in a challenging, hilly walk. Loved the charm of the house! The home was clean, the outdoors well-kept. The backyard turf was nice for doing yoga. Appreciated the beach amenities (chairs, umbrellas). We very much enjoyed this place for our weekend girlfriends get-away.

I could have spent the summer in this charming, original beach bungalow! So much character, from the original hardwood floors, to the beautiful bay windows throughout the house that allowed for such nice natural light throughout the day. My kids especially loved the backyard, with the lush landscaping and big tree that provided the perfect amount of shade throughout the day.
We kept the windows and doors open throughout our stay, which allowed for the distant ocean breeze to keep us cool, even during the unusual warm weather we were having.
The home was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and again - the private backyard just perfect for my family of five. Highly recommend!

The house was very nice to stay in and was in a great location. Kitchen had what we needed and was clean. Same for the bathrooms. We used the laundry and even though it was in the garage it was clean and worked out fine! Outside space was lovely to sit out and have your coffee :)

We were a family of 4 that stayed. Lots of room for the kids to have their space and we have ours. 5 minute walk to the beach. Busy neighborhood but noise was not an issue. All the beds are very creaky. Master bed was comfortable but the guest bed was very firm. Kids thought their twins were fine, as they are kids and can sleep anywhere. Was dusty in lots of corners of the rooms with little spiders but not an issue. Kitchen had everything you needed. Convenient to have washer and dryer. Had beach chairs and towels available to us. Lots of space outside. Unfortunately the fire pit didn’t work as it wouldn’t stay lit unless you held the button the whole time. We didn’t worry about contacting anyone as we didn’t sit outside at night much. Had some minor issues with ants and a smoke alarm but communication with the rental was quick and efficient. Would stay here again.

This home was even better in person than in picture. It accommodated 6 adults very comfortably and the back yard was wonderful! We had a small dog with us and he loved being outside with us and could run around the yard without us worrying as it is all fenced in.

Very comfortable home. Decor and colors inside are welcoming and bright. Kitchen well stocked, as was laundry in garage. Beds were cozy. Backyard was well furnished with seating, BBQ, heaters, and plenty of propane. Bathrooms were clean. Great location, walking distance to beaches (maybe a little over a mile to the Cove; only a few blocks to a smaller beach down the hill). Great stay.

We have 2 small children (ages 2 and 4) and it was perfect for us. The house had plenty of room for us as each child had their own room; and the living room had a nice sitting area and TV for us to relax in once the kids were asleep. The backyard is a big plus. We enjoyed sitting out back while the kids played; and were able to BBQ a few times during our stay. The location is also great. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. The nearby beach was never busy while we were there. If you have small kids I recommend bringing a stroller for the walk as the road to the beach has a fair bit of incline. We also walked to the main part of La Jolla (where all the major restaurants and shops are, as well as the grocery store); that is about a 10-15 minute walk. The house has a driveway which is also very convenient as parking can be challenging at times in the area. The house is on a quiet street as well; we found it was nice and quiet in the evenings. Overall the property seems to be clean and well kept. The house has a lot of character to it and we were very happy with it. We will definitely be back in the future!

We are a retired couple who stayed at the sunny gardens house in La Jolla for two weeks in November. Along with us we had our daughter, her husband and two small children, the house was perfect for the 6 of us. It has artificial grass front and back which was wonderful for the children to play on, and lovely mature trees. The house itself is well equipped with comfortable beds and a large flat screen tv which proved invaluable after we put the kids to bed each night. It is in a very quiet neighbourhood about 3 blocks from the ocean and a 15 min walk to downtown La Jolla. The best beach for swimming was at La Jolla Shores, which is about a 10 min drive away and downtown San Diego is a 20 minute drive. All in all, its a great location for a family vacation, and excellent value for the price. We would recommend it to our friends.

Awesome place! As described. Quiet,relaxing, airy, pictures are accurate; clean, neat, charming. Nice enclosed yard beyond the furnished patio; can pick fresh lemons,oranges and limes; very private; driveway parking for two small/mid cars. We were there for a wedding and were able to have many East coast adult guests stop by afterwards, plenty of space to relax and talk, no one felt crowded. Rooms clean and comfortable, plenty of linens. Kitchen very well equipped. Can`t say enough positive things. Would stay again! Love this place!

A nice older style house in very good condition and a convenient location. Although the weather was not cooperative in terms of it raining and being quite cold, one could imagine that the outdoor area would have been great in less inclement conditions. The description provided on VRBO was accurate, and I have nothing negative to say about this property. Well worth considering if you’re looking to stay in this area.

The house was very comfortable for our family vacation. The master bedroom is spacious and private at the back of the house. We enjoyed sightseeing in San Diego and my sons tried surfing at La Jolla Shores. Windandsea beach was too challenging for them as newbies! Rental scooters were available right outside the house which was convenient for my sons. Down La Jolla was a mile away. We drove in and easily found parking. We enjoyed brunch at The Cottage and dinner at Prep Kitchen. The driveway was tight for two cars. but we were able to find parking on the block. If I were to do it again I might have considered a house near La Jolla Shores as my sons would have surfed every day. The beach is also really nice there. We used the kitchen mainly for breakfast, I enjoyed morning coffee in the garden. The house was a welcome respite after busy days!

My family and I were fortunate to stay in this lovely comfortable home with our dog for a week this summer. Barbie, the manager, is very gracious and accommodating and her dog, Daphne, is delightful! There were beach chairs and coolers at our disposal and we were a short drive away from La Jolla Shores beach. Windandsea Beach is just a walk away and is a great spot to watch the surfers. We hope to come stay at this lovely home again in the future!

What a great house - it is hard to add to the many compliments already made by other visitors. The house is spacious, well equipped, and well located as it is highly walkable to wonderful beaches, nearby restaurants and shops and to the village center - and a short drive to the airport, Coronado Island, Balboa Park and many other sites. We have rented over 20 vacation homes over the years and highly recommend this one as a great value. The icing on the cake is having Barbie, your host in the adjoining lot - she is welcoming and helpful and truly adds to your enjoyment of the house and area. Thanks!

We (family with two young kids) spent 9 nights at this property in October, 2016 and we loved it. This 3-bedroom house had the perfect floor plan for us, but it will definitely work for multiple couples sharing the house as well. The house was very well kept, very clean and had a lot of charm. The owner must have travelled the world since he decorated the house with painting and drawings from all over the world. The house is only a few blocks from the beautiful Wind and Sea beach which is a hidden gem with the most beautiful sunsets. You are also super close to the Village and quickly in Pacific and Mission Beach. Our boys loved to wake up and play in the pretty backyard which is really a bonus in such a central location. The property manager Barbie is always available and very helpful. The house had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrella, etc. The only thing we missed was travel bed for babies but Barbie was very helpful and recommended places that rent out baby equipment, and that's what we did. Bottom line, we had a great experience and we would highly recommend the house to other young families or couples or whoever wants to visit San Diego. La Jolla is fantastic and I would certainly stay in La Jolla and in this house again.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved every minute! The home is very comfortable and furnished nicely. Enjoyed the beautiful cool air and low humidity of S Cal. Many good restaurants nearby. Beautiful beach 2 blocks away with breath taking views. Nice staying in a roomy home with yard for our little dog. Very clean and well maintained. Barbie the property manager is very friendly and helpful in every way. Our dogs became girlfriends! Visited many places in San Diego, but loved the beach the most! Planning to visit next year.

This vacation rental was everything, and more! It actually looks even better than in the pics. It is spotlessly clean, well-stocked, and every comfort has bee thought of! If you need something...ask Barbie...you'll have it in a flash! We are dog lovers, so it was so great to have a dog friendly place, and sweet Blondie on property! Location is great...walking distance to beach, long walks, and downtown shopping and restaurants. Will be back for sure!!

My family and I stayed here in July 2016. Our party included four adults and two kids (ages 4 & 8) and the house was the perfect size for us. House: It was exactly as pictured/described. Very clean and well-stocked. Only downside was a very small TV in the main living room (we like to watch movies at night) but who really "needs" TV on vacation! The property manager is accessible but discreet. After the check in, she is available as your request. She lives just behind the property and our kids had a great time inviting her dog over to play ball in the backyard. The backyard has great shade and space for relaxing or grilling. Beach: Very close proximity to Windansea Beach, which is a great place for laying out and watching the surfers. It is not ideal for small kids, but the house is also an easy drive over to La Jolla Shores which was a perfect beach for kids, shallow, calm water and a great playground. The house provides everything you need for beach going: towels, chairs, umbrellas. Sightseeing: La Jolla is a great place to center yourself for sightseeing. It is an easy drive to all of the San Diego spots. We found ourselves in the light traffic direction wherever we went. La Jolla itself has lots to do and see as well. Restaurants: the house is walking distance from several great restaurants. Try the Promiscuous Fork! Other favorites in La Jolla are the Taco Stand, La Jolla Pizza, and El Pescador. We would absolutely stay at this location again and hope to return in the near future!

Our family of 5 stayed in this home for 10 days when we can to San Diego for my son's wedding and it was perfect for our needs. The house was immaculate and well kept, we ate breakfast on the back patio every morning under the citrus trees, and on the day of the wedding it was the perfect place for the bride and her five bridesmaids to do their makeup (tons of natural light) and get dressed for the wedding (large bedrooms and lots of mirrors). In addition it was close to several family friendly places for us to take the kids (Disneyland, Sea World, Legoland, San Diego zoo, kayaking, hiking, beach, etc.). Finally, Barb and her incredibly well-behaved dog, Blondie, were informative and helpful without being the least bit intrusive. We would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to stay in the San Diego/La Jolla area anytime as the weather is perfect year round.

We were very happy with our stay at this well maintained and very clean home. It was appointed with everything we needed and it is located within walking distance to restaurants, the beach, dry cleaning and a short drive to more of everything. We were a family of 6, 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 grown children. There was plenty of room for everyone. Barbie lives right behind the house and is available to answer any questions and also to let you play with her dog.....a bonus for our family! We would stay again if in the area.

We’ve finally found a property which merits our return. The location and home were perfectly suited for our vacation needs. It’s walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shops and the farmers market. The home itself was well appointed and spacious enough for our family of 5 and our dog. The inside was well maintained and the back yard was perfect for evening BBQ’s. Barbie and her dog were a pleasure to be around and seemingly always available for us. We can’t wait for next summer. My husband and I have rented many lovely homes over the last 15 years. This home and its location provided us the best vacation ever. The grandkids had never seen the ocean and it knocked their socks off. Only 2 blocks away we walked there every morning. One of them said, "I think we should live here if we can stay in this house." They loved playing with the landlady's dogs! And Legoland! Wonderful house, location, and city.

I am selfishly reluctant to write a review of the La Jolla Pottery Barn House because don't want the best kept secret to get out. But that would not be fair to the owner and Barbie, the property manager, who does such a wonderful job on all levels. I rent from VRBO extensively for both business and personal travel. I have never had a bad experience with VRBO and most places I've rented were great, but the La Jolla Pottery Barn house was the cream of the crop. This January's vacation was the most relaxing I have had in years with much of the credit going to the rental. Absolutely comfortable!

This was our second stay at the Pottery Barn house in two years. We love staying there as it is cozy yet spacious and well apppointed. Perfect for us and our two young boys. Its in a great location but nice and quiet too. There are some great restaurants within walking distaance and the beach nearby is gorgeous. Barb, the manager is friendly and very helpful and has a lovely dog that our boys love to play with :-) We will be back but for 2 weeks next time!

Came with my wife, 16 month old son and my dad. The house was clean, bright, quiet and the yard was great for our little guy to run around. The house was very quiet so our boy could nap when he needed to. It's not baby-proofed, but we managed without much trouble. The location was excellent with quick access to La Jolla and the interstate. THe manager and her dog were great and very amenable to our requests/inquiries about the best places to go. Highly recommend the Farmer's Market if you are in La Jolla on a Sunday. We will be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at the "Pottery Barn House." We had two adults and two small kids (4 yrs old) and found the house very spacious, clean, and packed with all needed amenities. The kitchen was well equipped and the eating area comfortable and light, which meant we could cook at home almost every night. The house has a nice size backyard that is completely fenced in, which was great for letting our kids play outside after long days at the theme parks or beach. The house also had beach toys and chairs, which we used several times and appreciated not having to buy. The property is walking distance to Windansea Beach, although we enjoyed swimming at La Jolla Shores better, which is only a short drive. There is a 7-11 convenience store a few houses away, which was great for last minute errands. There is also a nice restaurant (Promiscuous Fork) that was delicious and also only a few houses away. It was easy to walk to Pearl Street for restaurants and shops. We found everything to be only a short drive away (Sea World, Zoo, Legoland) and thought La Jolla, and this house, were the perfect central spot in the area. Overall, this is a great price for a well-equipped, perfect little house centrally located in La Jolla. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and meticulously care for for beach house. With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a large fenced yard, large living area, and kitchen with everthing i meeded to prepare home cooked meals,, it was truly a home away from home. The house is walking distance to the beautiful windandseabeach beach, as well as my favorite new little restaurant The Promiscious Fork! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the property manager Barbie. My Husband, puppy and 2 sisters rented the Pottery Barn Home just recently over the 4th of July week. Loved the home and Barb the minute we walked in. The pictures shown are exactly as the home is and much better. Barb shared with us local "things to do" as well the local 4th of July parade in La Jolla. We hurried that morning to see the parade and instead of seeing it we were in it!! What a wonderful neighborhood and friendly! It makes me want to start a neighborhood block party of our own. As much as we love home.... we were not ready to leave. We enjoyed dinners at home and our dinner at "Georges at the Cove" for the 4th. We walked to downtown and fireworks directly in front of us. We loved our stay and hated to leave. We hope to return soon.

My family stayed for a week with our 2 grade school aged kids for our spring break trip. From the moment we walked in, we knew we had made the right choice. The house is extremely clean, has modern appliances and updated bathrooms. Each of the rooms has great light from the windows. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and pillows. We were all so glad to have our own rooms as well as a comfortable, sizable living room to hang out in together. The rooms are all larger than they appear in the photos. We ended up having more meals at home then I thought we would, as it was so comfortable to stay "home". We walked to the beach (windansea) each night to play in the water and watched the sunset. The neighborhood is quiet with many small and large homes. There is a convenience store and small set of shops/restaurants within a block or two. We also walked to the Children's Cove and downtown La Jolla easily, with the kids. We also drove to the zoo, Coronado, Sea World and the Birch Aquarium with fairly easy access to Hwy 5 from the house. I would highly recommend this house to any of my family or friends.

We rented this wonderful home while in town for our daughter's wedding. It was the perfect home for our celebratory week! The house has a cozy welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Everything we needed was there. Barb, the property manager was so friendly and helpful; just what we needed during this special time. Our family and friends also enjoyed Blondie, Barb's beautiful dog. This property is highly recommended; we'll definitely return!

My husband, daughter and son in-law stayed in this fabulous home for 1 w eek in October. The home is well equipped with all kitchen supplies, towels etc. it is also located in our favorite part of La Jolla, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the best beach in the area. The house is open concept and airy in feel, due to a large number of windows. The back garden was very pleasant as well. Barbie was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with...we fell in love with her dog, Blondie. We would definitely rent this home again. It was very comfortable. Felt like a home away from home.

Our family of four rented the 'Pottery Barn' House for fall break! It was perfect for our needs! It felt like a home away from home! Barb the onsite manager, was very helpful and friendly! Our entire family felt like she was like family to us by the time we left. The house was in a great location for the La Jolla community and a very quick commute to San Diego and other areas such as Carlsbad! It was so nice to come to the house after touring around and relax in such a well kept home! Our family would not hesitate to rent this home again if we are ever in the area again!

This was our first time choosing a vacation rental home, but wanted something were we could bring our dog. The Pottery Barn house was the perfect set-up for my husband, daughter and I, along with a large golden retriever. Great to have the fenced in back yard- perfect for dog and nice patio to enjoy coffee/breakfast every morning. Easy walk to Wind-n-Sea beach as well as restaurants, grocery store and some fun shops. Central location made it easy for quick day trips to San Diego and the Gaslamp District, to SeaWorld and several trips north to Del Mar (great dog beach). Thanks to Barb for a wonderful visit.

My husband and I stayed in the Potterybarn house for a week with our two young boys. This house was PERFECT for us! There was a nice yard for our boys to run free and we had our dog with us to enjoy the outdoors as well. It's a short walk to the beach and so close to everything you need! This was the most amazing place we have ever stayed for a vacation! The house is absolutely perfect! We traveled with two small children, a teenager and the two of us. The house was perfect. The house was immaculate and we had plenty of room. Barb, who manages the property was so great to meet with us late at night to get us in and situated. I just finished the most wonderful vacation of my 65 years. I had the good fortune to find the "Pottery Barn" house in La Jolla. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, beautifully furnished and in a great location. I felt like I was at "home'. The location was fabulous as well. I walked to the beach every day and to the village on most days. The neighbors are friendly and to top it off, I was able to have my golden retriever with me and use the back yard. The landscaping was recently completed and made for a great place to entertain. I can't recommend this highly enough. You won't be disappointed. If I could, I would give it 10 stars.

We arrived with our son, daughter-in-law and 2 young children for Christmas. We chose the Pottery Barn style house in La Jolla as we wanted to enjoy a Christmas together rather than in a hotel. The little house worked perfectly. We purchased a Christmas tree 2 blocks away and set the scene. The house was extremely well-equipped and everything worked very well. We were delighted to find the distance to the beaches, local parks and the town so close (we found Sammy's Wood-fire Pizza, a terrific Italian restaurant nearby, excellent and accommodating for young and old). From the house too, it was an easy drive to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and Legoland all an absolute must to see. Barb was most welcoming and helpful and we would definitely stay there again.

We had a panic after a place we had rented was double booked. Barb was so great helping us out with this lovely house. We had 6 adults and the house easily accommodated us all. We loved being near the beach and the town. All in all it was a great stay.
