Overall we enjoyed our trip. The rental was nice and fairly well kept - but a fantastic location.
However, 6 days after we checked out the host sent us a notice that we were being charged an extra $300 for a broken crank on an outdoor umbrella. We had to fill out extra forms indicating we didn't touch the umbrella or the crank on our stay.

Ocean front, ocean view doesn’t give it justice!Very clean house! There were beach towels, beach chairs and toys. Kitchen stocked with dishes, pots pans. Plenty of blankets and extra pillows. Inside seating was super comfortable.

This home has by far been the best we’ve rented—and we’ll definitely be booking it again!The location is unbeatable, and the price is perfect for everything you get. This house is in the best location, right between Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. We normally stay at a hotel down the street but had the whole family with us. The house was perfect for all of us and you can’t beat the view. The pictures are a little misleading only that you think you have all the floors but it is actually just the first floor, which was fine. There were people with kids above us and you couldn’t really hear them except a little from in the master bathroom. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone and would visit again. The host was also fast and responsive!

Incredible location. A relatively quiet part of the beach,with the water fairly close. We enjoyed watching the people going by, the surfers, the pelicans, the dolphins, the fishers, the parasailors and so forth all from the comfortable living room. It felt like we were sitting on the beach in a recliner! At the same time we were protected by the reflective windows. We also enjoyed sitting on the patio area, separated by pretty plantings from the passers by. Olive bakery is only a few blocks away for a morning Kolache or cinniman roll. One bedroom is separated from the living area by a curtain, which may be a disadvantage to some. A small problem with the trash can was taken care of directly. We hope to come back. It is so fascinating to watch the day at the beach unfold.

The location can't be beat! Property is exactly as described. Bedroom layout is a bit odd, but clearly shown in the photos and description, and the price (lower than surrounding) is appropriate for this space.

Great location but make sure to check the dimensions of the parking space, if parking is important to you. Our Rogue fit perfectly, easier to back in, but our truck would not have fit. Plenty of street parking on Mission Blvd. The third bedroom now has a nice bed, not a futon. Also a sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is well appointed.

What an amazing location. It was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only thing I wish I had known before hand was the third bedroom/den has no door . Has curtains which is open to the living room. Plus it has gym equipment in that same room and no dresser or closet.

Awesome location, Super easy check in ,nice and roomy ,great Private patio ,we had To park across the street , parking area to small for 2 vehicle parking , that would be the only downside but really we didn’t even mind that, fully stocked kitchen ... We could’ve used a couple more dish towels... And maybe some more bath towels , but besides that it was perfect ! Comfortable beds, we will definitely return to this location!

issue with smell coming from washer and into bathrooms - couldn't get resolved as it wasn't an emergency for weekend support so lived with it til monday. Cleaning crew came and addressed it but it came back as the week went on. Hopefully it gets a permanent resolution for future stays. Otherwise, fabulous!

Loved this home. My family of 4 plus my MIL all had plenty of space. Gorgeous view of the ocean. Stocked with enough utensils, pits and pans, etc. Easy walk to Belmont Park. Small beach markets and coffee shops in walking distance. Parking spot is tight. We had a small SUV and it was snug. Overall, it was an amazing place to stay. Hope to stay here again in the future.

I felt the property presented better than the pictures. The place was clean, updated, and slept 7 very comfortably. The patio out front was perfect for entertaining, eating, and watching the waves/people. There was also an outdoor shower which was nice to have after swimming in the ocean. My only recommendation would be to put a gate on the north entrance of the patio. We had a 4 year old and had to put some chairs in front so that he wouldn't walk out onto the busy boardwalk. Also, the length and width of the garage was a little short, so we parked on the street. Parking was a little busy, but I always seemed to find a spot within a 5 min walk. The place is located right next to lifeguard station 18, so it was an easy landmark for the kids to look for when walking up and down the boardwalk/beach. I would definitely rent this place again.

All the beds and pillows were really comfortable, nice showers, and there were plenty of blankets, towels, dishes, and everything else we needed. The views from inside and out on the patio are amazing, just watching and listening to the waves, the surfers, the passers-by on the boardwalk, the sunsets....fantastic. I could go on for days. You couldn't ask for a better location. We walked almost everywhere we went. The rental process, from booking to checkout, could not have been any easier or communicated any better. Very nice people to deal with. What an incredible place, and a wonderful experience we'll never forget!

Reviewer Comments: Everything was great for four days except the fifth night...noise from upstairs unit from 2 AM on...shoes on hard floor, loud talking outside our bedroom windows. Poor insulation or soundproofing between floors. The upper unit was vacant til the fifth night. I would not recommend this lower unit for that reason. Everything else was outstanding.

The only thing missing were more chairs on the patio. There was only one beach chair, and no lounge chairs. Otherwise, it was perfect. I would also mention, the third sleeping area is right off living room has no door, but a curtain. Special thank you to Daniel, maintenance man, who was always ready to help.

My family and I truly loved our trip and loved our rental even more. The location was perfect, close to the pier, restaurants, shopping and much more. The rental had everything you needed for the week. It was superclean, the beds were comfortable, and had just the right amount of space. Our favorite part was sitting out on the patio every day watching people go bye on the boardwalk. We could even watch our kids down by the beach while we were in the kitchen. We were very pleased and will highly recommend this property to anyone.

We spent Easter and my husband's birthday here. We had family visiting from Germany and this was so much better than being in separate hotel rooms. We made memories that will last a lifetime!! The dining table was big enough to all eat together and to play games at night. Plenty of patio chairs for enjoying the sunsets together and for watching the kids play on the beach. We had 3 adults, 3 teens and one child. Master bed is only a queen. Our 10 year old ended upon the sleeper sofa. He said there was a bar in his back so he slept sideways. It was okay for 3 nights but I wouldn't recommend the sofa for an adult. We all had a wonderful time! The kids all got a kick out of the little things like fancy light switches and unique wall treatment in the bedrooms.The wall of widows opening to the beach front patio was amazing. If it weren't ground floor I could have slept in the recliner with them open all night! They provide beach toys, body boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and a beach umbrella (needs to be replaced because it wont lock in fully extended due to rust, but that's the ocean air on metal). Outdoor shower helped keep the floors clean. The full size washer and dryer were great for washing the beach towels each night. The kitchen was pretty well appointed with most of what you need. I think a previous renter may have broken the blender pitcher and failed to report it because it was missing. Bummed we couldn't make our smoothies. But that was such a minor issue. Parking is tight! It is San Diego so the fact that there is parking big enough to even get a truck in is a big plus. However, on our second day someone checked in to the upstairs unit and we had to exit and enter through the back hatch of the Expedition and pull out to load because we literally could not open the doors with 2 vehicles in the carport. If it was 2 small cars it might be okay. Our neighbors were very nice about it and we solved our issue working together. We debated staying closer to Gaslamp/Downtown. I'm so glad we didn't. We spent most of our time just relaxing in the condo, on the patio, on the beach, in the ocean. Super short walk to the bay and to Belmont Park, as well as eateries and the grocery store. The guys visited the USS Midway. We all HAD TO go to Pizza Nova! A must any time we are in San Diego. As well as driving to Gaslamp for Ghirardelli Sundaes for dinner one night. We had an amazing mini vacation and can't wait to return!

The location is amazing! The layout of the condo is great, loved the big sliding glass doors and view to the ocean. The house is very sound proof you cannot hear the people above you . The bedroom that does not have a door was suppose to have blinds that you can roll down for privacy but there were no blinds. We did contact the office. Would stay here again!

Location was perfect, and spending time on the deck watching the ocean and the passersby could not have been more relaxing. The size of the house was good for up to 6 guys (ages 25-35) but would have felt small with any more than that. Would highly recommend this place.

The ladies at SDVR went into action and moved us to an Ocean Front house. Wow! the gesture was nice enough but this house is incredible. So beautifully decorated, perfect location on the beach. I cannot say enough about SDVR and now this house. Don't pass this one up. We will stay here again..

Rental place within walking distance for bikes, surf boards.... Restaurants all within biking distance. Bay across the way with tons of rental fun for the kids. My only negatives are that the 3rd bedroom is more a converted office with a king bed and a shade for a door. No closets or drawer space. ( fine for kids) The parking is complicated if you bring 2 SUVs, but doable. Every other aspect of house was excellent. Just remodeled with new appliances, bathrooms and kitchen.Overall it was fantastic and we will be back next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 6 (4 adults+2 kids)rented this house over a long weekend and we had a wonderful stay. The house is right on the "boardwalk" and about 50 yards from the beach which gives you a wonderful view every day. We arrived at the tail end of the house being renovated (kitchen and bath). The new bathrooms are very nice (2 walk in rain showers)and the kitchen was gorgeous. We had a small incident with someone telling us they double booked our house but it was instantly cleared up by SDVR (on a Saturday afternoon) and they checked back with us on Sunday to make sure things were still ok. I would say that overall this was a fantastic vacation and we are already talking about returning to this unit in 2015.

The kitchen area lacked supplies such as towels and hand towels. The vacuum cleaner didn't work also. All in all, we are all talking about doing a vacation like this again and would consider renting this location again.

Reviewer Comments: We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary by taking our son & daughter-in-law and their 2 children 7 & 9 and our daughter and 19 yr old daughter. It was wonderful. The grandkids could go the ocean so easily and we all loved every minute we were there. Had coffee in the a.m. sitting on the patio and some drinks in the evening enjoying the beautiful settings. What a wonderful place -- from decor to views, we couldn't ask for more! One of the microwaves wasn't working, and they brought a new one out right away. I highly recommend either rental to anyone!

Just eed a few things done before we checked in on 3/4/12 ie hangars, hot water heater adjustment, gas adjustment on fireplace, a broom, dustpan, toilet bowel brush, many lightbulbs missing. Bedroom off of living room is all bed..sort of a strange room lacking privacy due to sheer curtains on bifold french doors. SDVR was responsive in handling our calls.

Things that could be added or fixed: Corner cupboard hinge screw kept falling out in 2nd floor kitchen (cabinet for pots/pans). Could not find a spare light bulb for lamp in one of the bedrooms (bunk bed room). New set of beach chairs are needed (all but one of the current ones are very old/rusted). Toilet paper holder in 3rd floor bathroom is broken. Both bbq's should be replaced as they are quite old. Stairs to first balcony are steep - could be dangerous, not sure how what can be done, but it could be an accident waiting to happen. --- Perfect location, spacious, great house for a group of people. All wonderful.
